中國農業大學工學院系2002年8月學校整合工學門類部分骨干學科專業群,由原機械工程學院、車輛與交通工程學院和農業工程研究院三個單位共同組建而成的。工學院教學科研辦公用房總面積達2.2萬平方米,設施、設備以及科研、教學條件先進。學院下設農業工程、車輛與交通工程、機械設計與制造和機電工程4個系,設有機械工程訓練中心和大學生科技創新實踐中心,設有機械與農業工程國家級實驗教學示范中心、精細農業系統集成研究教育部重點實驗室、現代農業裝備優化設計北京市重點實驗室、農業部土壤-機器-植物系統技術重點實驗室、農業部可再生能源清潔化利用技術重點實驗室、國家農產品加工技術裝備研發分中心、農業部河北北部耕地保育科學觀測實驗站、農業部保護性耕作技術研究中心、中國農業大學農業工程研究院、中國農業大學中國農業機械化發展研究中心等。現有教職工160人,其中教授41人、副教授57人、講師16人。師資隊伍中包括長江學者特聘教授2人、國家百千萬人才2人、北京市教學名師1人、農業部有突出貢獻中青年專家4人、農業部產業技術體系崗位專家2人、教育部新世紀優秀人才7人、北京市科技新星2人。
學院學科建設涉及農業工程、機械工程一級學科和農產品加工及貯藏工程二級學科。其中,農業工程學科目前是該一級學科全國唯一的國家重點學科;農業機械化工程學科,創建于1952年,是國內最早的碩士、博士學位授權點和博士后流動站點之一,曾誕生了我國第一號發明專利,分別于1988年、2002年和2007年連續三次被評為國家級重點學科,也是國家"211工程"和"985工程"首批重點建設學科;機械工程學科由原"農機設計與制造學科"發展而來,2007年獲得一級學科博士授予權,其中車輛工程二級學科為部級重點學科;農產品加工及貯藏工程二級學科為國家重點學科,主要從事農產品加工裝備、農產品干燥、農產品物料工程特性以及生物質工程等方向的科學研究工作,農產品干燥學科方向產生了首批全國百篇優秀博士論文。
學院現有本科生1300余名,碩士研究生311名,博士研究生176名,人才培養體系不斷完善。設有農業工程、機械工程博士后流動站;農業工程、機械工程一級學科博士、碩士點授權點;擁有農業機械化工程、農業裝備工程、車輛工程、機械設計理論、機械制造及自動化、機械電子工程和農產品加工與貯藏工程7個二級學科博士授權點,以及農業機械化工程、農業裝備工程、車輛工程、機械設計及理論、機械制造及自動化、機械電子工程、農產品加工與貯藏工程和載運工具運用工程8個二級學科碩士學位授權點;設有農業工程、機械工程、物流工程和項目管理工程4個工程碩士專業學位授權領域,以及農業機械化農業推廣碩士專業學位授權領域;設有農業工程、機械工程兩個本科專業大類,共6個專業,農業機械化及其自動化和車輛工程是高等學校特色專業,農業機械化生產學和機械制造工程學為國家精品課程。學院本科畢業生就業率多年在全校領先。
學院在農業機械化發展戰略研究、旱地農業保護性耕作技術與機具、農田作業機械化、農業機器人技術、秸稈加工及其轉化利用、牧草、飼料加工技術裝備、農產品干燥理論與技術裝備、農業裝備機電一體化、農業裝備數字化設計、車輛人機工程學等優勢領域取得了許多重要進展,先后獲得了一大批重要科技成果,其中國家科技進步二等獎8項,教育部、農業部及其他省部級及其以上科技成果獎勵30余項。2012年,全院發表SCI和EI收錄論文159篇,獲國家專利授權139件,其中國家發明專利授權86件。
長期以來,學院以培養具有創新精神和實踐能力的高素質人才為人才培養目標,牢固樹立"以人為本,人才強院"的辦學理念,注重培養學生的科技創新實踐能力。在課程建設和教學改革方面取得了豐碩的成果,先后獲得國家教學成果獎3項,北京市教學成果一等獎5項,其他省部級教學成果獎多項。機械設計制造系列專業基礎課程獲國家級優秀教學團隊稱號。
本科生實踐教學和創新能力培養成效顯著,在全國大學生"挑戰杯"課外學術科技作品競賽、全國大學生機械創新設計大賽、美國大學生數學建模競賽、全國大學生數學建模競賽、中國機器人大賽暨RoboCup公開賽、"飛思卡爾"杯全國大學生智能汽車競賽、"幻響杯"外觀設計大賽、中國設計紅星獎等各類學科和科技大賽中獲得全國及省級以上各類獎項70余項。
學院國際合作和交流日益廣泛。先后與美國、德國、加拿大、英國、荷蘭、挪威、日本、韓國、泰國、澳大利亞、俄羅斯、烏克蘭、以色列等20多個國家和地區的60多所著名大學建立了科研、教學以及學生聯合培養等友好合作關系,擁有多項國際合作項目。
Following a university-wide reorganization, the College of Engineering (COE), China Agricultural University, was founded in August 2002, by merging of the former colleges of Mechanical Engineering, Vehicle and Transportation Engineering and the Agricultural Engineering Academy. COE, taking teaching and researching as a core, is committed to develop highly qualified engineering disciplines and to bring up acquainted engineers with ability.
COE comprises four departments, named as Agricultural Engineering, Vehicle Engineering, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Design and Manufacturing, respectively. By the end of 2011, the staff amounts to 160, including 114 faculty members, 1 Academician of the Chinese Engineering Academy, 41 professors and 57associate professors. Most of the faculty members possess doctoral degrees. In addition, there are many adjunct professors from various famous international and domestic universities and institutions. The total enrollment is about 1787 students, including 1300 undergraduates, 311 MSc. students and 176 Ph D students.
Currently, COE totaled a 22,000 m2 building equipped well with advanced teaching, researching and practical learning facilities, in which the Mechanical Engineering Practical Training Center for Undergraduate, the Conservative Tillage Research Centre of the Ministry of Agriculture, the Engineering Research Centre for Agricultural Equipment and Facilities of the Ministry of Education, etc., locate. The state key discipline, Agricultural Mechanization Engineering, was recognized as a top priority by the state through funding from the "211" and "985" projects and have been consistently ranked No.1 in evaluations by the Ministry of Education in 1988, 2002 and 2007, respectively. Vehicle Engineering is the ministry level key discipline.
During the past decades, COE's technical emphases have been laid on the areas of development strategy for agricultural mechanization, conservation farming, agricultural machinery, automation and robotics on farming machinery, agro-materials properties, drying technology, quality test and sensing technology, feed and forage engineering, agro-products processing, biomass engineering etc.. Many faculty members have taken part in the state-level research projects, funded by the National Natural Science Foundation Commission, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Education, etc. Other projects have been sponsored by local governments and various industry enterprises. Every year, 159 SCI/EI cited academic papers were published, and many researching and teaching accolades from national and provincial governments were awarded to the faculty members. In fact, the very first patent of the People's Republic of China came from COE.
COE has two Post-Doctoral Programs which cover Agricultural Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. Seven Graduate Programs are authorized to confer Ph.D degrees and MSc. Degrees, including Agricultural Mechanization Engineering, Agricultural Equipment Engineering, Vehicle Engineering, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Manufacture and Automation, Mechanical Design and Theory and Processing and Storage of Agricultural Products. Vehicle –operating Engineering is Master Degree program. Besides, there are four programs for MSEE, which are Agricultural Engineering, Logistics Engineering and Project Management Engineering, and one program for Master of Agricultural Extension, named as Agricultural Mechanization. There are seven Undergraduate B.Sc. Programs, which are Agricultural Engineering, Agricultural Mechanization and Automation, Measurement and Control Technology, Vehicle Engineering, Vehicle Transportation, Machine Manufacturing and Automation, Industry Design. Plenty of opportunities are provided for students to gain practical hands-on experience through specialized experimental laboratories. Each year, there are many students who join the Undergraduate Research Program (URP) and the National Science and Technology Innovation Competition. They come away with many prizes. The employment rates of the graduates in past years were the highest in CAU.
International cooperation with learning and research has been a preferential objective for COE. Multinational or mutual academic links have been widely established with foreign universities and research organizations. Cooperative projects have been carried out with USA, Japanese, European, Australian, and various foreign partners. The faculty members and students have been benefited a lot from participating in international meetings, seminars, and workshops. Nowadays, COE is well recognized through various kinds of cooperation and exchange activities and deserves its international reputation.
